Xavier Òrrit Prat has a degree in physical activity and sport from the University of Barcelona, and a PhD from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. In 2006, he obtained a FPI scholarship at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona where he started as a university professor at the Departament de Didàctica I Expressió Corporal.

In 2008, he obtained a pre-doctoral fellowship at the Université Catholique de Louvain as a university professor and researcher. His professional experience revolves around three areas: high performance sports, university teaching and the promotion of an active life for health. On the other hand, his research is mainly focused on the evaluation and analysis of training programs.

Currently, he is participating in the pedagogical coordination of the Healthy Communities study, as well as in the coordination of the Integral Health Program in Catalonia. He also participates as a researcher in the studies of the SHE Foundation and the CNIC around these programs.
