Dr. Valentín Fuster Opens the World Congress of Cardiology in Madrid

Dr. Valentín Fuster, General Director of the CNIC, President of the Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital in New York, and President of the SHE Foundation, delivered the Opening Keynote Lecture of the World Heart Federation (WHF) at the European Society of Cardiology Congress (ESC Congress 2025) held in Madrid.

This new recognition from the WHF honors global leaders in cardiovascular health for their excellence in research, clinical practice, education, and leadership. During his speech, Dr. Fuster emphasized the importance of early childhood education as a key strategy for preventing heart disease, highlighting educational programs he has implemented in Spain, New York, and Colombia.

“Early education is the most powerful tool to achieve a lasting impact on global health,” said Fuster, whose research has shown significant improvements in lifestyle habits among thousands of children.

WHF President Jagat Narula praised Dr. Fuster for his leadership and legacy in cardiovascular medicine, noting that his work sets a benchmark for future generations.
