Dr. Valentín Fuster has just presented his new book, “Siempre adelante”, in which he shares his vital learnings and his transcendental research on the causes of heart attacks, which revolutionized global cardiovascular health. Through a sincere and emotional story, he narrates his successes, setbacks and defeats, as well as his most personal experiences, hoping to inspire young people on their professional and life path.
The International Atherosclerosis Society has awarded Dr. Valentín FusterMD, PhD, President of Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital and Physician-in-Chief of The Mount Sinai Hospital, Director of the National Center for Cardiovascular Research (CNIC) and President of the SHE Foundation (Science, Health and Education), the Antonio M. Gotto Jr. Prize in Atherosclerosis Research in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the understanding and treatment of atherosclerosis. He was presented with the Antonio M. Gotto Jr. Prize in Atherosclerosis Research during the opening ceremony at the IAS Annual Symposium in Oman on Wednesday, December 4.
This award honors Dr. Fuster’s outstanding contributions to the understanding of the progression, prevention, and treatment of atherosclerosis, also known as hardening of the arteries.
